The Union of National Employees has many essential standing committees that oversee certain day-to-day operations and larger projects. These committees are composed of National Executive members and Assistant Regional Vice-Presidents. Each committee also has a technical advisor and administrative assistant from UNE staff.

Terms of Reference
January 2022
- To make recommendations from time to time with respect to discipline, including bylaws, policy issues and procedural matters.
- To review all investigation reports and recommendations for disciplinary action before they are submitted to the National Executive, with a view to ensuring that due process and proper procedures have been followed.
- To carry out other tasks referred to the Committee by the National Executive or the National President.
- Should the chair of the Discipline committee be absent from the national executive meeting, the committee members will decide amongst themselves who will present the report of the committee to the National Executive.
- Quorum for the committee is 50 percent of established committee members.
- All members of the committee will be given reasonable notice in advance of any scheduled meetings of the committee.
- The National Executive be provided a list of all active complaints received by the UNE and the status of their corresponding investigations at each National Executive meeting to be presented at an ‘in-camera’ session and include the:
- The names of Complainant(s) and Respondent(s)
- The date the complaint was filed
- The subject matter of the complaint and references
- (PSAC Constitution/Regulation, Bylaw/Policy etc. cited)
- The current status of the complaint
- The outcome of the complaint/investigation, if Applicable.
